The two volumes of this book are a french translation of the "Familiar Letters" written by the Florentine Chancellor Leonardo Bruni Aretino (ca 1370-1444). The present edition tries to give a synthesis of the most relevant contributions left by the previous important editions (particularly those of Mehus, 1741, and Luiso/Gualdo Rosa, 1980). These letters sent to more or less important persons give a further account of this first Quattrocento humanistic world.
