Mechanical properties of geopolymer composite reinforced by organic or inorganic additives

Résumé

Metakaolin-based geopolymer materials reinforced with mineral or vegetable additives were developed, and the evolution of the mechanical properties was investigated. Three parameters are investigated in this study, the alkali element used for synthesis (Na or K), role of additives (sands, fine silica or fibers) and the impact of aging. All the results evidence the role played by the various interfaces between geopolymer matrix and the additive. The nature of potassium alkali appears promising in the presence of vegetable additive
