"Elements of hattian syntax"

When they transcribed and translated Hattian texts, Hittite scribes endeavored to remain as close to the original text as possible; which had sometimes caused problems, the superimposition between two languages which were structured so differently sometimes leading to difficulties. This is especially true when it comes to syntax. In this communication, I wish to start with bilingual texts and see how they can contribute to a better knowledge of Hattian syntax. I will engage with the question of subordination.
