The study of different additives on a geomaterial reformulated mixture

Résumé

Geopolymers are new binders resulting from the activation of an aluminosilicate source by an alkaline solution. These ecomaterials are economically and environmentally profitable because they have the advantage of ensuring adhesion between mud bricks and wood. In this context, this paper focuses on the study of the effect of various additives on the kinetic of the setting of geopolymers to facilitate adhesion between various supports. For this purpose, the chemical composition of a laboratory formulation was modified by the addition of aluminous (boehmite) and amorphous silica. Characterization of various mixtures showed that the rate of polycondensation is controllable by the addition of a different aluminosilicate source. Preservation of the working properties of the formed materials was observed. Finally, the addition of a delaying mineral compound allowed the setting time of the geopolymer binder to be adjusted while preserving the mechanical properties.
