Abstract : Dispensed within protocol framework, antiseptics are particularly useful in hospital hygiene and for preventing healthcare-associated infections. They allow the reduction in the number of micro-organisms on healthy or injured skin, as well as on mucous membranes. A good antisepsis relies on an immediate effect, a residual effect after a single administration and a cumulative effect after several applications.
