Résumé

—Network Coding is a key strategy for meeting the needs of information technology of the next generation. However, collected and distributed data are only profitable if their confidentiality is guaranteed. Lately, there have been numerous approaches that exploit network coding properties to comply confidentiality more effectively. This paper proposes a Secure Network Coding based approach for a confidential multi-hop Routing (SNCR) protocol in wireless sensor networks which aims to thwart external and internal eavesdroppers and minimize energy dissipation in a hierarchical clustered network using an optimized network coding (NC) scheme. The key idea is to limit the transmission operations of the network coding coefficients to a single digit transmission in combination with the coded messages. Our proposition includes a two-level encoding and a decoding processes. We present a confidentiality investigation of the protocol with the proposed adversial model. It shows that SNCR ensures confidential transmission of data packets in a multi-hop routing scheme and countermeasures the eavesdropping attack.
