A first article published in 2010 was devoted to the 20 French forest officers killed during the Second World War. This new article contains an additional list of 57 French forest agents killed in action or in detention between 1939 and 1945. Two other themes are developed: on one hand, the story of two forest students who escaped from occupied France in 1943 and, on the other hand, the case of forest officers who enlisted as volunteers in the Free French Forces.

Un premier article publié en 2010 dans la Revue forestière française avait été consacré aux 20 cadres forestiers français décédés du fait des opérations militaires durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. À sa suite, ce second article propose une liste inédite de 57 préposés forestiers, décédés durant le même conflit. Deux volets complémentaires sont également abordés: le parcours de deux élèves forestiers évadés de France en 1943 et l’engagement de cadres forestiers dans les rangs de la France libre.
